NOWI announces international offshore wind training partnership with Maersk Training.

Initial Investment
President Laura Douglas and Bristol's Board of Trustees, with the support of the Bristol
Community College Foundation, took the bold step to invest $15 million to construct
the NOWI.

Construction
Construction begins on the NOWI facility in New Bedford.

The NOWI opens to the public.

Offshore Wind in Action
Massachusetts and Rhode Island procure 2,878 megawatts of offshore wind energy from
three projects – enough to power over 1.5 million homes. That same month, the NOWI's
training schedule is at capacity.
